Ingredients

1 Kudampuli (kokum) :- 4 medium pieces
2 Shallots :- 10 ( chopped )
3 Kashmiri Chilly Powder :- 2 tbsp
4 Coriander Powder :- 1/2 tsp
5 Garlic :- 8-10 cloves (chopped)
6 Ginger :- 1 inch piece (chopped)
7 Green Chill :- 3-4 nos ( slit )
8 Curry Leaves :- 3-4 string
9 Coconut Oil :- 4 tsp
10 Mustard Seeds :- 1/2 tsp
11 Fenugreek Seeds ( uluva ) :- 1/4 tsp
12 Water :- 250 ml (01 cup )
13 Salt :- to taste

Cooking Method

1 Clean and cut the fish into medium size piecess
2 soak Kudampuli in a cup of warm water and keep it aside.
3 Take a small bowl and add kashmiri red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, 4 tbsp of water to make it a paste.
4 Heat coconut oil in a manchatti ( clay pot ) and add mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds start to splutter, add fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, green chilly, shallots, sliced ginger, garlic and saute for 5 minutes.
5 Add the prepared paste to the pan and fry on low flame till the oil separates.
6 Add the soaked Kudampuli, salt, water into it and bring to boil for 5 minutes.
7 Add the fish pieces to it and cook on medium heat till the fish is cooked and the gravy is thick.
